My Disney Story: From Childhood Dreams to Disney Adult Adventures

For many, the magical allure of Disney World holds a special place in their hearts, creating cherished childhood memories that linger for a lifetime.
In my case, this enchanting bond with Disney was unknowingly passed down from my mom, forming the foundation for an enduring love affair with all things Disney —which simply makes me a Disney adult.
Childhood Disney Dreams
As a teenager, my dream of working for the iconic company became a beacon—fueling my determination to intern and (hopefully) don the glass slipper as Cinderella in the Magic Kingdom parade.
But as life often does, unexpected turns led me down a different path.
My Disney dream shifted, but the magic never left.
Returning to Magic Kingdom with Mom After 20 Years
In 2023, I decided it was time to reciprocate the magic my mom had given me as a child. For the first time in 20 years, we returned to Magic Kingdom together.
She had fond memories of staying at the Grand Floridian, but I convinced her that Disney’s Beach Club Resort was the perfect choice for two Disney Adults.
The convenience of strolling straight into EPCOT from our resort? Game-changer.
The Evolution of My Disney Love
Over the years, my love for Disney never wavered—but how I expressed it did.
As a child, Disney meant spontaneous trips and carefree park days. As an adult, my Disney vacations became meticulously planned, complete with park itineraries and themed outfits for each day.
This shift wasn’t about losing the magic—it was about deepening it. Like many Disney Adults, I found joy in creating new traditions that honored old memories.

The idea of Disney bounding opened up a new realm of connection with my favorite characters. Drawing inspiration from iconic figures like Cinderella, Tinkerbell, and Rapunzel, I embarked on a year-long journey of planning Disney vacation outfits that celebrated the spirit of each character.
From the Cinderella parade wave to Tink's fiery personality and Rapunzel's "Best Day Ever" mantra, each outfit became a reflection of the magic Disney instilled in my heart.

For my mom, rediscovering Disney came full circle when she met her new favorite princess at EPCOT.
For me, it was the reminder that bounding together added an extra sprinkle of pixie dust to our trip.
